even down in Houston we're feeling the cold weather that is supposed to make history in terms of amount of snow, temperatures, etc.

Our power went out for a bit this morning - turns out it was part of the area-wide rolling blackouts. Fortunately for us it was after I'd gotten up (my alarm is plugged into the wall so I doubt it would've gone off - should probably), and we'd both gotten a good night's sleep and it came back on in time for Kevin to make his coffee (no power = no coffee). Its gone off several more times during the day, fortunately his schoolwork today is mostly reading NOT writing a paper so he can just leave the computer off all day.
