Maybe this is my million dollar idea and I'm missing out by not working on it (but I doubt it). We need to be able to look at movies we want to view with a scale on how much it will engage our dog. This includes notations of how many dogs will appear in the movie that will cause him to run at the tv because he wants to play with them, the front runners for that are:

Shooter - which has not 1, but 2 different dogs that each resulted in Smokey running at and jumping for the tv.
The rating system could also apply to songs, as I've indicated before Smokey bawls everytime the song "Let it Die" comes on the radio
Do other people's dogs do this, or is ours extra special bonkers (or both)?
We want to watch a movie to relax, not to have to grab our dog everytime we hear a bark or see a dog appearing on screen.....

hehe. that is funny. I can't get Addie interested in the TV at all. Even when there are dogs on the screen...
ReplyDeleteOur dog is totally disinterested in television, which is sad since she spends the vast majority of her time occupying prime real estate in front of our living room tv.
ReplyDeleteAny time we play a video on the computer that features one of the kids or us talking, though, freaks her out.
Our dog (Scarlett) stops whatever she's doing when the TMX sound thingy starts at the beginning of a movie, and watches intently until that particular little scene is over. Oh, and she apparently likes Clifford, the Big Red Dog.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part Apollo ignores the TV. Sometimes he'll spend a while facing the TV like he's watching but we're pretty doubtful. Our funny events with him are the dog shows, where he'll spend about 15 minutes solid watching the dogs walk across the screen, and the Wii. Apollo does not like the Miis walking around the screen. He'll growl and bark at them. We think it's pretty funny.
